Frequently asked questions

Is that glass or resin?

It’s glass! I created the first River Table in 2011 and after my work went viral in 2014, countless imitations made with resin (plastic) became a big trend and have gained in popularity. But be careful with resin tables. Wood moves and resin does not; solid wood is a living thing and needs to be allowed to “breathe”, or expand and contract with seasonal changes in humidity. Small voids filled with resin may be okay, but large areas of chemically hardened resin will not breathe, meaning cracks will form as the wood breaks away. Each of my pieces is designed with reverence for wood as a natural material and an understanding of how it moves.

CAN YOU MAKE US A CUSTOM TABLE?

I really enjoy creating custom pieces. From small tables to boardroom tables and even wall-hung artwork, I enjoy creating pieces that express my vision while tailoring a piece for the space in which it lives. Interested in a commission? Start with an email.

DO YOU TEACH woodworking?

Not currently. But I have a vision to do this in the future. Imagine spending a week in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, soaking up inspiration, sleeping in a treehouse hung between two giant Douglas Firs and building a piece of furniture you can take home!

HOW DOES SHIPPING WORK?

I have a lot of experience with shipping large artwork and the process is simple. For large tables, I use a blanket wrap shipper and the your table will arrive fully assembled and ready to enjoy. Smaller tables, furniture, sculptures and wall-hangings will ship by freight or UPS, depending on their size.

Do you ship outside the usa?

Yes, my work is in homes and offices all around the world. If you live outside of the USA and found something in my shop that you’d like to purchase, reach out for an international shipping rate.
